What is Conservation Camp?
Conservation Camp provides positive educational outdoor experiences, helps foster appreciation and understanding of nature, and introduces a variety of opportunities in natural resources and conservation careers. Professionals from various natural resource and conservation agencies present programs on topics like wildlife, habitat, ecosystems, water quality, fisheries, forestry, and conservation career information. These professionals, as well as adult volunteers, serve as overnight staff and group leaders for the duration of camp.
Campers - Who can attend?
Students that will be attending grades 6, 7, and 8 in the fall
and have an interest in the outdoors are encouraged to attend. Space is limited and registrations are taken on a first-come, first-served basis.

The fee for camp is $200 per student. Price includes meals,
snacks, lodging and a t-shirt.
REGISTRATION DEADLINE: TUESDAY, MAY 31, 2022
Fee increases to $250 after registration deadline.
Cancellations after May 31st will be charged a $50 cancellation fee. Cancellations after June 7th will not be refunded.

Marinette County Land & Water Conservation is offering four scholarships to Marinette County residents. Interested applicants are required to write a 200-300 word essay titled "Why I want to participate in Conservation Camp." Winners will be chosen based on the content of their essay. We prefer that the essay is typed. Handwritten essays are accepted but if we are unable to read them, they will be disqualified. Remember to include your name, address, telephone number, and school name.

UPHAM WOODS OUTDOOR LEARNING CENTER
Operating since 1941, Upham Woods is a model residential outdoor learning center, managed by the University of Wisconsin – Madison Division of Extension. The center sits on a prime location on the Wisconsin River, two miles north of the Wisconsin Dells, offering an excellent “river classroom” to study both the natural and cultural history of Wisconsin.
