| Environmental Poster Contest |
Every fall the Marinette County Land & Water Conservation Department sponsors with the Wisconsin Land & Water Conservation Association the Environmental Poster Contest for school aged children in Wisconsin. The next contest will be held this fall, just as school starts in September 2010. This contest is on the advisory list of the Association of Wisconsin Administrators. Cash prizes are awarded to the first four places in each division. All participants will receive a certificate for entering.
First place winners of the county contest will be entered in the Lake Michigan Area Land & Water Conservation (LMLWCA) Contest (area) in October 2010. First place winners in the area contest will proceed to the Wisconsin Land & Water Conservation Association (WLWCA) contest (state) in November 2010. The first place winners of the state contest will be on display at the WLWCA in early December and will be entered into the national Association of Conservation Districts National Contest in February 2011. Winners of the National Contest will be on display at the NACD National Convention in 2011.
The Land Information Committee, Land & Water Conservation, area associations and WLWCA may use posters for promotion of resource conservation, including the development and distribution of a WLWCA calendar or note cards. |
