DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES PROGRAM (DD)
DD Program is for people who have had brain injury, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, autism, mental retardation, fetal alcohol syndrome-fetal alcohol effects (FAS-FAE), other neurological conditions that are related to mental retardation and require similar treatment resulting in a long term and substantially handicapping conditions. Each DD person participates in a plan to specialize services to help prevent or alleviate or maintain services including social, personal, physical or economic habitation or rehabilitation and including diagnosis, evaluation, treatment, personal care, day care, domiciliary care, special living arrangements, training, vocational support, protective services. Also included are follow-along services, and transportation services necessary to assure delivery of services to individuals with developmental disabilities.

COMMUNITY INTEGRATION PROGRAM (CIP) CIP 1A, and 1B are available to some individuals who have Medicaid. Can pay for residential support, case management, some day services according to CIP regulations.
FAMILY SUPPORT PROGRAM helps families with a severely disabled child ages birth-21, who have unmet needs. The child must reside in his/her home with natural parents and under 21 years of age. Family Support assists in locating community resources and provides funding each year to eligible families based on individual needs. In 1985, a cost-sharing component was added so some families with higher incomes share in the cost of goods and services based on their ability to pay.
KATIE BECKETT MEDICAL ASSISTANCE is for children ages birth-18 years and is determined to be disabled under Supplemental Security Income (SSI) . The child must require a level of care typically provided in the hospital and the cost of care at home must be less than in an institution.
VOCATIONAL SERVICES serve eligible people ages 18 and up. Individual must have a vocational goal and require assistance to achieve this goal. These services have a waiting list.
RESPITE CARE, SUPPORTED LIVING, GUARDIANSHIP AND PROTECTIVE PLACEMENT provides services to people who are not able to care for themselves or to meet their day to day responsibilities. Guardianships, and if appropriate, protective placement are established for adults the court deems mentally incompetent to manage their personal and or financial matters due to the infirmities of aging, developmental disability, or other incapacities.
AUTISM SERVICES are coordinated through our Children's Disability Specialist. The department administers the program utilizing state guidelines for eligibility and qualified service providers.
