Emergency Management encompasses a vast array of services and resources to assist individuals, families, schools, businesses, and local governments "Prepare, Respond, Recover and Mitigate". While we are technically one office, we have categorized what we do into "sub-departments" to make it easier for you to locate information.
Here is a brief summary of what kind of information can be found in the different sub-departments:
LEPC & HazMat: Information on hazardous materials (chemical) related incidents and planning; the Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC), Emergency Planning Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA) and the County HazMat Team.
Mitigation: How to minimize the effects of a disaster such as flooding, wildfire and high winds before it occurs. Ideas for individuals as well as communities/businesses.
NIMS: National Incident Management System information is relevant to responders and municipalities. Links to find the latest requirements.
Preparedness: Information, links, templates, planning documents to help individuals, families, farms, schools, businesses, and municipalities prepare before disaster strikes. Specific topics such as severe weather, tornado, fire and flooding. Information on Marinette County's all-hazards weather radio program.
Responders: Information and links relevant to law enforcement, fire and EMS personnel including grants and training opportunities.
Of course there are some items that cross-over between specific categories. For example, some topics may apply to "Preparedness" as well as "Responders", such as training sources. Click on "Links" on this page.
