Mission Statement

Our mission is to improve the health of Marinette County residents.

Description

Communicable Disease Control
  • Free Immunization Clinics throughout the county for vaccine preventable childhood illnesses

  • Confidential follow-up of all communicable diseases that are reportable to the Health Department per Wisconsin State Statutes

  • Annual flu vaccine clinics throughout the county

  • Follow-up of TB patients and skin testing of high risk contacts

  • TB skin testing for employment or school attendance

  • Minimal cost vaccines for adults: Hepatitis B, Pneumonia
Health Supervision & Promotion
  • Home visits to individuals and their families

  • Educational programs for groups

  • Health counseling and teaching

  • Monitoring unstable health conditions
Injury Prevention

Child Passenger Safety-A public health nurse, certified in child passenger safety is available to assist families with proper seat selection and installation. Call 715-732-7670

Maternal & Child Health
  • Health teaching and follow-up to pregnant high risk individuals through prenatal care coordination and follow-up of high risk infants

  • Health education:
    - Infant nutrition
    - Parenting
    - Growth and development
    - Safety in the home

  • Follow-up of families of SIDS victims

  • Follow-up of children with Special Health Care Needs

  • Membership on multi-disciplinary teams participating in community

  • Physical screenings to meet daycare, preschool and kindergarten attendance requirements.
School Consultation Services
  • Screening programs

  • Hearing Immunization programs

  • Hearing Conservation Program
Other Programs
  • Health Check - Early, Periodic Screening, Diagnosis and Treatment for persons 0-21 participating in a Medical Assistance program. Head to toe health assessments are conducted by a Public Health Nurse
